We honor the memory of Gertrude "Trudy" Miller, a remarkable and strong woman who created a beautiful life of her own. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon H. Miller Sr., her mother, Zeta Maria Fuhs, her father, Adolf Fuhs, and her brother Paul Fuhs. Her memory is kept alive by her three living sons, Vernon H. Miller Jr. of Wisconsin, Carter C. Miller, and Brandon R. Miller (Kerry), who both reside in Colorado, as well as her grandchildren, Piper and Cameron Miller.
Gertrude Fuhs graduated from Schenley High School in Pittsburgh in 1950, going on to start her professional career that led her to many years of service with WPGH-TV. In January 1964, Trudy married her husband, Vern, and together they built a happy life until his passing in 2002. Welcoming three sons, Trudy and Vern raised their children at Millwood, their pastoral horse property north of the city of Pittsburgh.
In addition to making life beautiful for her family and maintaining a full time career at the station, Trudy enjoyed flower arranging, decorating, traveling and keeping herself fit with walking. She was a longtime member of Saint Alphonsus Parish in Wexford, PA.
