It is with profound sadness that the family of Gina Scaldaferri announces her passing on Sunday, November 16, 2025, just shy of her 51st birthday.
Born on November 18, 1974, Gina dedicated her professional life to public service, specializing in the demanding and vital field of cybercrime. A fearless protector, she proudly served across numerous government and law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and the Hoover Alabama Police Department. Gina's work was particularly impactful in the area of rescuing children from cyber exploitation, a testament to her deep commitment to justice and safeguarding the vulnerable.
Gina earned her bachelor's degree in Information Systems from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and furthered her education with an MBA from the University of Maryland University College.
Known for her quick wit and vibrant personality, Gina was truly a joy to be around. Outside of her intense career, she had a fierce passion for rescuing animals, providing a loving home and a safe haven to many pets throughout her life.
Gina was preceded in death by her father, Antony Scaldaferri, and her grandparents.
She is survived by her devoted mother, Gwen Scaldaferri, and her brother, Tony Scaldaferri, as well as numerous cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her legacy is one of unwavering strength, integrity, and deep compassion for both people and animals.
The family appreciates Gina's friends and neighbors that assisted in caring for her.
