Gina Stratos

1972 - 2026

Gina Kay Stratos, 53, of Reno, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026. Born on August 4, 1972, in San Francisco, California, Gina carried the soul, creativity, and resilience of her hometown with her throughout her life.

She was the daughter of the late Kathy Jane Livesey and the wife of the late Richard (“Sel”) Sevedge. Gina is survived by her beloved children, Sage Moon Strickland, Max Sevedge, and Harlowe Sevedge; and by her siblings, Dan Livesey, Sarah Danhoff (Stratos), and William Wolf (Soberanis).

A published writer and lifelong artist, Gina expressed herself through stories and creative works that reflected her unique perspective on the world. Her words captured her heart and depth.
One of her pieces can be read at *Dark River Review* (https://darkriverreview/gina-stratos).

As she once wrote:
“Honey, I know what it's like to hurt. You're a special girl, Bridgette. Do you know that? You have an old soul, and I think it's beautiful. I think you're beautiful.”

Gina loved music, especially while she cooked—and found joy in creating a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter during her cherished Sunday Dinners. She was funny, vibrant, and deeply devoted to her children. Though she often doubted her own strength, those who knew her saw it clearly in the way she lived with love and persistence.

Gina will be remembered with profound love and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who carry it forward.

For My Sister:

Her soul moved like quiet light,
soft but impossible to miss—
a warmth felt more than seen,
a presence that stayed after she left.
She carried love in the small moments,
strength in the cracks she never showed.
And even now,
the gentleness of her spirit lingers
in every heart she touched.

Love you sis!
