Glenn Lee Johnson, born October 19, 1957, in Baltimore (Pigtown), Maryland, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, at home while resting in his favorite recliner. He was 68 years old.

Glenn was a loving father, a loyal friend, and a man whose kindness, humor, and extraordinary resilience touched everyone who knew him. Throughout his life, Glenn endured tremendous health challenges—surviving cancer twice and facing other serious illnesses. Yet he refused to be defined by any of it. His personal mantra, “never give up,” guided him through every hardship and inspired all who walked beside him. His great attitude and undeniable zest for life amazed everyone around him.

A proud Baltimore native, Glenn especially loved Catonsville, the community where he seemed to know everyone—and everyone knew him. He supported small businesses, showed up for local events, and uplifted the people and places that made his hometown special. His friendly spirit became a familiar comfort to many.

Glenn was deeply patriotic and took great pride in flying the American flag outside his home. He honored his country every day, and his love for America was a meaningful and consistent part of who he was.

He also had a deep love for the beach and sailing. Being near the water brought him peace, joy, and a sense of freedom. Whether taking in the ocean breeze or watching the waves, the beach was one of his happiest places. Sailing held a special place in his heart as well—he loved the calm, the challenge, and the connection to nature it gave him.

One of Glenn’s greatest joys in life was watching his kids play sports. He loved cheering them on, supporting them from the sidelines, and celebrating every big moment. Those memories—loud games, long drives, proud smiles—were some of the happiest parts of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary (“Betty”) Johnson and Clarence (“Rus”) Johnson, as well as his aunt, Helen Johnson.

Glenn is survived by his children—Michael, Zack, and Max—who were the greatest pride of his life. He also leaves behind Michael’s wife, Tammy, and their sons, Nathan and James, who brought him endless joy.

He is also survived by his sister, Sandy, and her two children, Nicole (Bryan) and Christopher (Allie). Glenn was blessed to be a great-uncle to Chris and Allie’s children, Clancy and Marley, all of whom he loved deeply.

In his later years, Glenn shared his life with his devoted girlfriend, Valerie, whose love, care, and companionship were a true blessing. His former wife and dear friend, Lolly, continued to support him throughout his illness, offering comfort and friendship he cherished. Glenn also deeply valued the presence of his housemate and friend, Hamza, who was an important part of his life.

Glenn’s life was defined by generosity, humor, community, patriotism, a love of the water, devotion to his family, and an unbreakable spirit. He passed peacefully in the home he loved, surrounded by love.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all of Glenn’s friends who gave him a helping hand throughout the years. He could not have done everything he did without you.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
