Glenn Sheppard

1969 - 1998

Glenn Michael Sheppard, 29, passed away on December 19, 1998, in Deer Park, New York. Born on November 1, 1969, in Plainview, New York, Glenn brought joy and energy to every room he entered and left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Raised in the Roman Catholic faith, Glenn grew up surrounded by the love of his family and community. He pursued his education at SUNY Cobleskill and Orange County Community College, where he laid the foundation for a career in physical therapy—a field he was deeply passionate about. At the time of his passing, Glenn had recently secured a promising position in his profession and was engaged to the love of his life, looking forward to a bright future both personally and professionally.

Glenn's vibrant personality made him unforgettable. Known for being the life of any party, he had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel welcome and included. His laughter was infectious, his spirit magnetic. Whether sharing stories or lighting up a room with his humor and warmth, Glenn made sure those around him were always having a good time.

He shared a special bond with his father through their mutual love of golf. Many cherished memories were made on the greens with friends and family alike. Glenn also had a deep passion for baseball—an outstanding player whose talent led him to try out for the Montreal Expos. Though many may not have known this about him during his lifetime, it stands as a testament to his drive and athleticism.

Glenn is lovingly remembered by his parents, Anne and Peter Sheppard; his siblings, David Sheppard and Kimberly Hope (James); his grandparents Carolyn and William Heins; and his uncle William Watson. He was predeceased by grandparents Josephine and William Egan and grandfather Charles Watson.

In the days following Glenn's passing, his family was deeply moved by the outpouring of love from people whose lives he had touched—many of whom they had never met before. It became clear just how far-reaching Glenn's impact truly was. He was larger than life—a character full of fun, heart, and generosity.

Though gone too soon, Glenn Michael Sheppard's memory continues to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May that memory bring comfort and strength to all who mourn his loss.
