Glenn Daniel Watson "Hanky," 68, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, peacefully entered eternal rest on February 11, 2026.

Born on December 16, 1957, Glenn was the beloved son born to the union of Creola Moore and Huey P. Watson. From an early age, he carried a quiet strength and steady spirit that would define the man he became. He attended Southern University for a semester, an experience he often spoke of with pride.

Glenn was baptized at Straight Life Baptist Church, where his spiritual foundation was established. He later faithfully served as a deacon and dedicated member of Jubilee Christian Center until the onset of his illness.

Glenn was a devoted and loving husband to Janice Taylor Watson, a proud father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Janice Taylor Watson; four children: Vermikia Watson, Kaisha (Pastor Aaron) Williams of Lafayette, Louisiana, Huey P. Watson, and Khy Danielle Watson; and his devoted stepson, Joshua Wilson of Creve Coeur, Missouri.

He was a proud grandfather to three grandchildren: Kaleb Williams, Kaeli Williams, and Kenidy Williams; and two step-grandchildren: Joshua Wilson and Janos Wilson.

Glenn is also survived by four sisters: Brenda Watson, Cleo Watson, Carol Watson, and Creola Moore; and two brothers: Samuel Moore and David (Levillia) Moore; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, coworkers, church family, and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Creola Moore and Huey P. Watson; a stepson, Johnathan Price; great-grandparents; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was employed with Associated Grocers Incorporated for 42 years and 7 months, eventually retiring as a forklift operator. Glenn also served as a shop steward with the UFCW Local 455, where he earned the respect of both his peers and leadership for his steady presence and strong voice.

Glenn was an avid hunter and a diehard fan of the Miami Dolphins. He loved to talk and truly never met a stranger. Whether in the grocery store, at work, at church, or in the neighborhood, Glenn could strike up a conversation and leave you feeling like you had known him for years.

He loved playing dominoes and proudly considered himself a master player. Glenn would often jokingly say, "Glenn D.—D for Domino!" He was also proud of his Istrouma High School roots and often told people he graduated from the "University of Istrouma High," a phrase he shared with pride and humor.

Glenn was a provider, protector, and pillar of strength. His life was marked by faith, dedication, leadership, humor, and love.
His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

"To be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
2 Corinthians 5:8
