Glenn Michael Zuber (March 11, 1969 - February 14, 2026)
Glenn Michael Zuber, 56, recently of Laguna Woods, California passed away in his home on February 14, 2026. Glenn was born in Fullerton, CA. He moved with his family in 1980 to Camarillo, CA, where he spent his teenage years.

Glenn was known for his jovial spirit, quick wit, and deep love of bringing people together—often around good food and, if one was lucky, the occasional mudslide or margarita. He had an impressive command of history, politics, and religion that sparked lively conversation. When discussions grew heated, he could disarm a room with humor, yet he never retreated from his convictions and engaged others with both honesty and respect.

Glenn pursued a lifelong calling in ministry and scholarship. He studied at Yale University, Emmanuel School of Religion, Princeton Theological Seminary (MDiv), and Indiana University (PhD). Over the course of his career, he pastored several congregations and taught widely in religious studies.

Glenn was especially passionate about creating new forms of Christian community. This vision led him to found Iona Conversations in Washington, DC—a ministry that offered thousands of people a welcoming, compassionate, and intellectually honest expression of faith. Through coffeehouse book groups, pub theology gatherings, communal meals, and innovative worship, Iona became a spiritual home for many seeking connection in a changing world. As Glenn wrote in 2015, he sought to explore "what Christian faith and community would look like if it addressed the realities of postmodern worldviews, cultural fragmentation, greater racial diversity, and the increasing digitalization of relationships." It was a vision ahead of its time and deeply needed.

Glenn served congregations across Maryland and Virginia, including North Chevy Chase Christian Church, Derwood Presbyterian Church, Buckingham Presbyterian Church, and Arlington Presbyterian Church. He also taught religion at Indiana University, Manhattan College, Fordham University, Wesley Theological Seminary, and Trinity College in Washington, DC.

He is survived by his son, Eli Zuber; his sister, Jill Zuber; his mother, Peggie Zuber; and his former wife, Jennifer Butler.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 19 at 1:30pm pacific time at Grace Hills Church 24521 Moulton Parkway Aliso Viejo CA 92637. He will be interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1500 E. San Antonio Dr., Long Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations in Glenn's memory may be made to the National Capital Presbytery-NEW GROWTH FUND (please specify fund on form).
