Gloria Dean "Deanie" (Hazlett Matthews) Morton, 71, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025. Born November 13, 1954, she lived a life defined by faith, generosity, and deep devotion to those she loved.
Gloria faced every challenge with remarkable strength. Her steadfast faith in Jesus, her kindness, and her joyful spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She cherished her children, grandchildren, family, and many dear friends, and she held close the memory of those who preceded her in death. She moved from Jasper to Valrico to spend her final weeks in the care and presence of her family. Gloria is now free from pain and at peace.
Gloria is survived by her daughter and son, their families, and their father/her friend: Kristina and Greg Trevor, Alexandria Trevor and Kimberly Trevor, Kenneth and Glenda Matthews, Brendon Matthews and Brianna Meyer (and great-grandson Aiden), and Grady Matthews; as well as her close brother and sister and their families: Jerry and Tammy Hazlett and Karla "Lyn" and Renea Hazlett; and her close friends: John, Christen, Vickie, Marleen, and so many others.
In lieu of flowers, Gloria and the family have asked that donations be made to Metavivor Research and Support and other organizations supporting research and treatment for fighting and curing metastatic breast cancer.
