It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Glynn Barron Jenkins, age 41, who passed away at his residence in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on December 3, 2025.
Glynn was born on September 24, 1984, in McColl, South Carolina, to Jane Barron Jenkins and Stanley Robert Jenkins. He grew up surrounded by family and friends who cherished him and was known for his kind spirit and deep love for those close to him. During his younger years in McColl, Glynn especially enjoyed motorcycle excursions with his mom and dad alongside family friends, creating memories that he carried with him throughout his life. He also loved the annual Thanksgiving family gatherings, where everyone cooked together, enjoyed fireworks, spent time target practicing, and looked forward to his mom Jane's famous "Pie Bar," a family favorite that brought everyone together and created lasting memories.
He graduated from Marlboro Academy in Marlboro County, South Carolina, where he excelled both academically and athletically. Glynn was a state champion tennis player, proudly coached by his beloved father. Tennis was not only a sport he loved but also a special bond he shared with his father, teammates, and friends.
In 2005, Glynn relocated from South Carolina to Pennsylvania, where he built his life and career. After moving north, he attended Penn State University. Although he made Pennsylvania his home, Glynn was always a Southern boy at heart. He never lost his Southern accent and was well known for his laid-back style, often seen wearing a backwards baseball hat, sunglasses, and flip-flops — a reflection of his easygoing personality.
Glynn was truly a jack of all trades, working in a variety of roles throughout the years. His work ranged from managing a restaurant to working in construction. He was known for his versatility, and willingness to help wherever he was needed.
Glynn married Lauren Gosch in 2018. Though their paths later led in different directions, their union was blessed with two beautiful children, Callen Michael Jenkins and Emerson Jane Jenkins ("Emmy"), who were the pride and joy of his life.
Glynn had a deep love for the outdoors and found peace and happiness in nature. He especially loved camping, fishing, sitting around campfires, and spending time with neighbors and friends. He also loved giving flowers to brighten someone's day, a small gesture that reflected his thoughtful and caring nature. Throughout his life, he had a special place in his heart for his many beloved dogs, who were constant companions and brought him great joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Robert Jenkins and Jane Barron Jenkins.
He is survived by his children, Callen Michael Jenkins and Emerson Jane Jenkins ("Emmy"); his sisters, Kathy Pelosi and Melissa Burnam; his brothers, David Jenkins and Dylan Jenkins; and his nieces and nephews, Sara Pelosi, Lisa Balentine, Jessica Jenkins, T.J. Burnam, Mary Burnam, Boone Jenkins, Molly Jenkins, Chloe Jenkins, and Samuel Jenkins.
Glynn will be remembered for his warm heart, easygoing nature, and the genuine friendships he formed throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, neighbors, and all whose lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held in the Summer of 2026.
