Celebration of Life of Mr. Godwin Obiokor Omoregie

We, the children of Mr. Godwin Obiokor Omoregie, sadly announce the passing of our beloved father.

Dad, nothing can fully describe how much we are going to miss you. You paved the way for us to follow, loved your children deeply, and laid a solid foundation for our success. We find comfort in knowing that although you are no longer with us, you are in the presence of Almighty God, basking in the awe of His divine glory and light as you await the resurrection of your new body at the end of this age.

Mr. Omoregie was born on May 5, 1952, in Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria, to Mrs. Cecilia Omoregie (aka Iyoha) and Mr. Ejeho Omoregie. His father passed away just months after his birth. He was the only son of his mother, born later in her life after many years of hoping for a son, earning him the name “Obiokor,” meaning “Arrived in scarcity.”

Godwin was an entrepreneur from a young age and worked selling newspapers as a teenager. At 17, during the Nigerian Civil War in 1969, he was drafted into the Nigerian Army. He later became an Army Sergeant and served across multiple regions in Nigeria. In 1977, he joined the Nigerian Air Force.

In 1971, he married Mrs. Rose Alika. Together they raised their children: Lillian, Harry, Jean, and Cliff. He also had a daughter, Kamaria, in the United States.

In 1982, Godwin relocated to the United States, settling in St. Louis, Missouri. He earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Criminal Justice and later became a U.S. Citizen. He worked tirelessly to reunite his family from Nigeria, completing the process by 1998.

Godwin was a devoted father and grandfather who believed strongly in education, discipline, and perseverance. He is survived by 5 children and 16 grandchildren.

We love you. Your family loves you, and we will continue to advance your legacy.
Rest in peace, Daddy. Till we meet again.
