Gordon E. Wright, 74, passed away on December 29th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on July 19, 1951, he is survived by his son, Troy, brother Terry (Jan), sisters Linda (Edd) Schultz, Patti Jo Dean, sister-in-law Judith Wright, as well as thirteen nephews and nieces and several great-nephews and great-nieces, whom "Uncle Gogo" always showed up for unconditionally.
One of nine children, family was everything to Gordy. He is preceded in death by his brothers Chipper, Bobby, Tommy, Ricky and David, his mother Barbara O'Heron, his father Edwin Wright, as well as his beloved grandmother Mary Wright.
Growing up in Des Plaines, Illinois, he was part of the "Wright Brothers Gang." Most of his adult years were spent near the Chain O'Lakes in northern Illinois, where he built a life running his own handyman and painting business and being out on the water whenever he could.
He loved his pets, especially his "best friend" Tripper, skiing, boating, motorcycle riding, bowling, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
He will be remembered by those who knew him as someone who had a great heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. He was a risk taker with an adventurous spirit and a one-of-a-kind personality who will be greatly missed.
