Graham "Tom" Thomas Hastings passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of strength, loyalty, and a car that was always perfectly clean.
Born on July 31, 1953, Graham was a man of immense character and quiet resilience. He attended Kent State University, where he met his partner in life, Barb. Together, they built a foundation centered on family and service.
A natural athlete and a lifelong student of history and sports, Tom was happiest on the golf course or listening to Motown and his favorite oldies. "What a Wonderful World" served as the unofficial soundtrack to his life. He was fiercely loyal, the kind of man who would jump in his car at a moment's notice to drive any distance for someone in need, especially his children. He was a man who showed his love through action.
Despite facing significant health challenges, Graham's strength was legendary; he never complained, and his spirit remained unbreakable. He truly lived for his family, particularly his children and grandchildren, never missing a game or a milestone. He didn't just attend these events; he took the time to know every friend and every detail of his kids' lives. When he wasn't cheering from the sidelines, he expressed his devotion through hard work, insisting on washing everyone's cars, mowing their lawns, and clearing their gutters. To "T-Bone," love was an act of service.
Graham is survived by his wife, Barb Hastings; his children, Laura Cote (Alex) and Michael Hastings; and his beloved grandchildren, Kendall, Adriana, Jeremiah, and Stella. Tom also leaves behind a vast circle of dear friends and an extended family who were all better for knowing him.
A celebration of Tom's wonderful life will be held at a later date. In his honor, the family asks that you hug your loved ones a little tighter and perhaps wash a neighbor's car.
