Grant Diamond passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 20, 2025. He was 81. He is survived by his wife, Deon Diamond, & their four children: Mikeal Diamond (Sara Diamond), Haley Diamond (Jon Cummings), Whitney Steitzer (Matt Steitzer), & Cassie Blazevski (Jerry Blazevski). In addition, five grandchildren: Lainey & Lawrence Diamond, Elijah & Kylie Steitzer, & Baby Blazevski due on December 22, 2025.
Grant was born on March 23, 1944, to Mike & Burny Diamond in Portland, Oregon. He had one older brother, Scott Diamond (deceased), & one younger sister, Marcia Hartill of Seaside, Oregon. He grew up in Hood River, Oregon, where he attended Wy'East High School (class of 1962). Grant was an accomplished football player at Wy'East. He loved to hunt, fish, & the adventure of being outdoors.
He attended San Jose City College, the University of Oregon, and graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in History in 1968, supporting himself throughout. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta (Fiji) fraternity at UO and OSU.
After an advancing career at Standard Oil, Grant pursued a career in insurance starting in 1970, where he helped people plan and protect their future. He met his wife Deon of 41 years in 1983. Together they built a successful business now managed by their daughter.
Grant valued his marriage & family above all, sharing a deep love with his wife and pride in their children's achievements. His faith and family were central to his life.
