GRANT RANDAL GELINEAU
(1956-2026)
Grant R. Gelineau of Asotin, Washington, passed away at home with his family at his side on the morning of January 5, 2026, after a 15 month battle with kidney cancer. Grant was 69 years old.
Grant Gelineau was born to parents Ron and Joan Gelineau on August 29, 1956, in Seattle, Washington. Raised in Bothell, Washington, Grant graduated from Bothell High School in 1974. He attended Washington State University and graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agronomy.
In 1982, Grant was married to his wife of 43 years, Amy (Brady) Gelineau, of Mount Vernon, Washington. Together they raised two sons Jacob and Corey, in Burlington, Washington.
In his career, Grant worked for over 30 years in the field of specialty crop nutrition . He began his career as a Field Representative at Asgrow Seed Company in La Conner, WA in 1980. Later, he was employed for several years by Smith and Ardussi Inc., in Burlington, and finished his career as an Senior Technical Sales Rep with Northwest Ag Products, Pasco, WA.
At home, Grant was a loving husband and father. Always a central figure in their sons' lives, his home was known to the boys and girls of Burlington as the place to find large quantities of food, love, and sleepovers. He was most comfortable in the outdoors, where he could have a fishing pole in his hand. Whether on a float in eastern Washington, or on a river in remote Alaska, or just fishing for salmon with friends and family, Grant was in his element on the water. He would host large fishing guide trips on the Skagit and Snohomish rivers, and always bring home their limit. For his friends and colleagues he would clean and smoke the fish in his own custom smoker, and then seal and ship the delicacies back to them, for their families to enjoy. Whether it was his fresh halibut, his smoked king salmon, or his specialty salmon spread, Grant was a master of all things fishing. He was also an amazing fly fisherman and cherished his annual trips to Chopaka Lake.
After moving to Asotin, Grant also found comfort in God, and became an elder at the New Ground Alliance Church. He also became his grandchildren's favorite fishing buddy.
Grant is survived by his wife Amy, sons Jacob and Corey, Jacob's wife Jennifer, and his beloved grandchildren Wyatt (11), Adalynn (8), and Garrett (5). Sister-in-Law and Brother-in-law Julie and Reid Allison, Niece and Nephew Hannah and Reid Allison, Brother-in-law Mike Brady, and Niece Sarah Kelley. He was preceded in death by his parents Ron and Joan Gelineau, sister Sheryl and her two children Neisha and Daniel, his brother Greg, and his in-laws, Joan and Don Brady, formerly of Mount Vernon, Washington, for whom he held a special place in his heart.
