Greg Campbell, 77, of Springfield, passed away peacefully at home on January 17, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born on May 14, 1948, to the late Bill and Mary Jane (Frazier) Campbell.
Greg grew up in a Navy family, and his father's career instilled in him a strong work ethic, a sense of service, and a lifelong spirit of adventure. His childhood was marked by frequent moves, each one adding new experiences, friendships, and stories he would later share with great enthusiasm.
An avid reader and passionate fisherman, Greg was a natural teacher and a gifted storyteller. He had a remarkable way of making people laugh, think, and feel at ease. Above all else, he loved dogs—often more than people—and found endless joy in their company.
He is survived by his daughters, Amy Campbell (Melissa Eddington) and Sarah Campbell (Mike) Messina; his beloved best friend, Debbie Campbell; his brother, Chris (Gina) Campbell; several nieces and nephews; and his lifelong friend, Dale Warfel.
In keeping with his wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Greg donated his body to science at Wright State University. Those who wish to honor his memory are invited to make a donation to the Clark County SPCA, a cause close to his heart.
