Gregory Edmund Cox, 76, of Olney, Maryland, exemplified resilience and quiet strength.
On November 13, 2025, he passed away after bravely facing lung cancer.

Greg was born in Washington, D.C., to Florence May and Edmund Scott Cox Jr. on
September 6, 1949. He grew up in Maryland, where he met and married the love of his
life, Nancy. After high school, he served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam
War, where he was awarded two Purple Hearts for his bravery. Greg spent his career
with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 2005. In retirement, he found joy in restoring and
driving his classic cars - a passion that reflected his patience, craftmanship, and
attention to detail.

Greg cherished making memories with his family, especially his sons. Whether they
were involved in Scouting, church activities, camping trips, or simply spending time
together at home, he filled their lives with laughter, love, and quiet guidance that will be
remembered always.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Nancy; his sons, Christopher (Brooke)
and Lee; and his granddaughter, Alivia. He also leaves behind his brothers, Stephen
(Connie) and Kelley (Mary); and his sister, Deborah (Mike) Mitchell. Greg was preceded
in death by his beloved son, Bradley.

Greg's quick wit and playful spirit kept everyone around him smiling. His one-liners,
teasing grin, and ability to find humor in everyday life made even ordinary days feel
special. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

The family will hold a private memorial gathering and wish to extend their heartfelt
gratitude for the love, prayers, and support they have received.
