Gregory Michael White

Gregory Michael White, 76, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Chicago on May 12, 1949, Greg led a life marked by dedication to family, generosity and love.

A devoted husband and father, Greg is survived by his bride of 51 years, Janice (née Garigliano); children, Robert (Kristy), Kristen (partner, James) and Brian (Whitney); grandsons Bobby, Colton, Breiden, Hayden and Clayton; sister Deborah Arpin (née White); and many more loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lucille, and nephew, Paul Arpin.

As the first in his family to attend college, Greg earned his Juris Doctor from DePaul University in 1975 and a Masters in Law from The John Marshall Law School in 1982. Greg had a long and fulfilling career in law, most notably as the managing partner of Crowley Barrett & Karaba, Ltd.

Greg's passions included music, travel, art, golf and cheering for the Chicago White Sox. He was a collector of rare coins and stamps and loved visiting national parks with his family. Greg spent countless hours volunteering with his children and grandchildren, including Saturday shifts at the People's Resource Center food bank and Monday nights with DuPagePads Solution to End Homelessness. Greg's stories, advice and enthusiasm for life will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Hursen Funeral Home, 4001 W. Roosevelt Rd., Hillside, IL 60162. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a brief memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m.
