Surrounded by his family, our sweet, loving Guy Crocetti peacefully journeyed home to God on December 14th, 2025. He lived a full, exciting, love-filled life for 81 years.

Guy was the loving husband and joyful companion to Janet Crocetti for 40 years, the devoted and adoring dad to Emily Joy Crocetti, and a father figure to his adopted son, Don Parkinson. He is also survived by his brother, Marc Crocetti and Suzanne Edwards; his sister, Toni Crocetti Kellam and Joe Kellam; his sister, Adri Crocetti and Bart Cannistra; his sister-in-law, Kathryn Fitzgibbons; his nephew, Zach Crocetti and Tracy Matson; his niece, Bree Crocetti and Luis Molina; and his great niece, Chiara Crocetti Molina.

Guy was born on November 9th, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to William (Gugliermo) Crocetti and Josephine Skolyn Crocetti. He was named after his grandfather, Gaetano "Guy" Crocetti.

Guy had many passions and excelled in all of them. He spent an idyllic childhood in Brentwood, California with his family, who moved to LA after his uncle went there to sing and act. As a very young child, Guy displayed a talent for art and this gift was nurtured by his parents. His artistic talents improved as he continued painting, drawing, calligraphy, and stained glass artwork. He entered numerous art shows and did a lot of his art for free and for fun, and for others.

He also loved sports and spent much of his time outside playing them with his close group of friends, with whom he stayed in touch throughout the years, even after Guy moved to Ohio. They were a mischievous bunch, but they had lots of fun together.

Guy's athleticism blossomed in high school when he joined the gymnastics team. He later competed for the UCLA Bruins gymnastics team, where he was outstanding. He loved gymnastics, a love he passed on to his daughter.

Guy also loved playing guitar, especially the blues. In high school, he played bass in a band. He continued playing guitar and buying guitars until the end of his life, always hoping "this new one" would make him play even better. He composed songs and was known to 'jam' regularly with his friends.

But Guy's greatest joy and passion was his daughter, who was aptly named Emily Joy. He was an involved parent, to say the least. When Emily began diving and gymnastics, he became a judge of both sports. He loved her unconditionally and supported her in her every endeavor, whether in sports or academics. He loved to cook for Emily and was always willing to do so, even at 11 o'clock at night. His sage advice to her was, "Anything worth doing is worth overdoing!"

Guy spent 40 years devoted to his lovely wife, Janet. He loved her constantly and completely and was thankful for her daily. Guy was so proud of his family, and went to the ends of the earth exemplifying what it means to be a loving father and husband.

Before his role as loving husband and father, Guy had a series of colorful jobs as a young adult, including at NBC studios where he met many celebrities. He studied history at UCLA and later worked in the restaurant business, which brought him to Cincinnati in 1983. He attended Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati for his masters degree and for his principal certification to become a special education teacher. He loved his students and they adored him. He worked for Covington City and Boone County Schools in Kentucky for 27 years.

Guy was one of nine teachers in the greater Cincinnati area who was chosen for the Teacher of the Year award. It was a great honor that he cherished deeply.

He spent the last 28 years of his life in Taylor Mill, Kentucky, continuing to paint, draw, read, play guitar, tell stories, and laugh with his family and friends. In his later life, he began practicing yoga, which he loved and would go three times a week (even with oxygen!)

Guy Crocetti brought light, laughter, and love wherever he went. He was a respected and beloved member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 41 years. During that time, Guy worked with many alcoholics sharing his experience, strength, and hope, and in return he was helped by them. He went into institutions throughout his sobriety, freely giving back to the community that gave so much to him. His faith was deep, and this provided him both a positive and grateful outlook on life, as well as much strength. Guy was full of life, and even right up to the end, he would shake hands with everyone in the room, making them feel accepted and welcomed.

Everybody loves Guy and we will all miss him. He is now happy, joyous, and free. That brings us comfort.
