H. John Kraus Jr., 77, of Hi-Nella, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, surrounded by family.
H. John Kraus, known to most simply as John, passed away leaving behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and creativity that touched everyone who knew him.
John was the sweetest and most caring person—someone who could strike up a conversation with anyone and turn a stranger into a friend. He had a true passion for landscaping and took great pride in his work. His customers weren't just clients; they became friends, grateful for both the beautiful work he created and the genuine care he showed them. He was, without question, one of the hardest-working men to ever do it.
Outside of work, John had a deep love for Elvis Presley and was a creative soul. He enjoyed writing, painting, and coloring, finding joy and expression through art. His creativity, warmth, and gentle spirit were a reflection of the person he was at his core.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Barbara; his son, John Kraus, and daughter-in-law, Taylor; his daughter, Kelsey, and son-in-law, Gino Dougan; his grandson, Jayden; and his niece Stacey.
He is predeceased by his parents, Henry and Hettie; and his sister, Sue.
John's kindness, work ethic, and creative spirit will live on forever in the many lives he touched.
