Harold William Garbarino
Harold William Garbarino 83, of Hendersonville NC, passed away on 12-10-2025.
Harold was born on March 13, 1942 to Dorothy Harrigan Garbarino and Harold Eugene Garbarino in Queens NY. After Harold graduated from Hobart College in 1964 he went on to attend and graduate from Philadelphia Divinity School in 1967.
After graduating with a degree in Theology, he started ministry in Williston Park, NY. He went on to serve at St. Lukes in Darien CT, Grace Episcopal Church in Lyons NY, St. James in Watkins Glen NY, St. Pauls in Montour Falls NY, St. Johns in Catherine NY and Church of the Good Shepherd in Reading MA. During his retirement he served as a Clergy Associate at St. James church in Hendersonville, NC.
In 1967, Harold married Ellen in Newton, NJ. Harold and Ellen went on to have 4 children. Claudia residing Florida, Jonathan residing in New Hampshire, Amanda residing in South Carolina and Eric residing in North Carolina.
He was the loving elder brother to Richard Paul Garbarino and his wife Pamela, of South Carolina.
He was a loving grandfather to 9 grandsons, Benjamin, Dylan, Nicholas, Noah, Tyler, Jonathan II, Gavin, Chase and Ethan and two great grandchildren Cole and Leela.
Harold is also survived by his longtime friend, Douglas Hoyt of Florida.
Harold enjoyed camping with his family, walking his dogs, fishing and classical music.
Harold was predeceased by his father, Harold Eugene Garbarino and his mother Dorothy Harrigan Garbarino.
A gathering of family and friends will be held in the spring of 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the "Parkinsons Research Foundation" 5969 Cattleridge blvd. Ste. 100 Sarasota FL 34232, www.parkisonhope.org. An organization Harold felt strongly about. Donations can also be made to St. James Episcopal church located at; 766 N Main St Hendersonville, NC 28792.
