Harry Llewellyn "Butch" Harris, age 80, passed away on December 30, 2025, in Ormond Beach, Florida. He lived a full and dynamic life marked by service, hard work, and a deep passion for music and mechanics.
Butch graduated from Fairborn High School before attending The Ohio State University. Following his studies, he proudly served his country as an aircraft mechanic in the United States Navy and later continued his military service with the Tennessee Air National Guard. His dedication to aviation and mechanical work extended into civilian life through careers with Otis Elevators and Perf-A-Lawn.
A man of many talents and interests, Butch had a lifelong love for working on cars—especially old ones—and could often be found under the hood or behind the wheel of a classic vehicle. He was equally at home on two wheels as he was four, enjoying countless hours riding motorcycles. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in hiking and staying active at the gym well into his later years.
Music was another cornerstone of Butch's life. He played both guitar and harmonica with enthusiasm and skill, sharing his love of music with those around him.
Butch was deeply devoted to his family. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Rochelle Cannon; sons Tucker Harris and Jesse Harris; grandsons Cameron Madson (Katie), Kyle Cannon, and Tucker Harris Jr.; granddaughters Sofie Harris, Maggie Harris, and Finley Harris; and great-granddaughters Brooke Madson and Chloe Madson. He also leaves behind his brothers Pete Harris and Richard (Dick) Harris; sisters Pam Harris-Cox, Nesta Harris, and Gwen Crain (Randy); along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Sheila (Maglia) Harris; his parents Harry Clay Harris and Kathryn (Eastman) Harris; brother Tom Harris; and sister Jennifer (Harris) Adkins.
Butch's legacy is one of resilience, craftsmanship, loyalty to family and country, and a zest for life that touched all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
