Harry Spiller was born on November 28, 1940 to the late George Spiller and Elizabeth Johnson Spiller, who instilled in him the values of faith, perseverance, and devotion to family.

At an early age, he devoted his life to Christ and was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church in Brazoria, Texas. His faith remained a steady foundation throughout his life.

Harry was a proud graduate of George W. Carver High School, Class of 1958. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he faithfully and honorably served his country for four years.

He did not just exist — he lived boldly, intentionally, and unapologetically. And that is how he leaves us: as a man who lived life fully and on his own terms.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved daughter, Christine Johnson King; his siblings, Allean Spiller, Sibenna Spiller Woodard, Evan Spiller, Ervin Spiller, Millie Spiller, and Georgia Spiller Jackson; and his first cousin, Wilson Alexander, who was raised alongside him as a brother and shared a lifelong bond of love and brotherhood.

Though he has reunited with those who went before him, his legacy continues through those who remain to cherish his memory.

He leaves to cherish his precious legacy his children: Rochelle "Heavy" Johnson of Galveston, Texas; Kendell Spiller (Tiffany Spiller) of Campti, Louisiana; Detria Spiller Jenkins (Roderick Jenkins) of Monroe, Louisiana; Latriche Spiller of Texas City, Texas; and Tonya Caligone Collins (Lester Collins) of Grand Prairie, Texas.

He was a proud and devoted grandfather to 28 grandchildren and a loving great-grandfather to 34 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren each of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life.

As the last elder of his generation, he also leaves behind a host of loving nieces and nephews whom he poured into with wisdom, strength, guidance, and unwavering love. He embraced his role with honor, and his influence will continue to live on through each of them.

Additionally, he leaves behind extended family members, dear friends, and all who were blessed to know him and experience his warmth, laughter, and generous spirit.
