Harvey Tall passed away peacefully on January 20th at the age of 91.
Harvey's life was a testament to his commitment to his family and his community. As a proud veteran of the Navy, he served aboard the USS MacKenzie that he frequently lamented had met its end as target practice. Following his military service, he embarked on a long career in information systems, ultimately retiring from General Electric.
His commitment extended beyond his professional life into his community. He was a driving force in his local area, notably a co-founder of Temple B'nai Torah and later lending his voice and wisdom as a participant on the Resident Council at his retirement complex.
Harvey was the beloved husband of the late Edie Tall, with whom he shared 56 years of devoted marriage. He was also preceded in death by his cherished son, Jonathan, Brother Laurence, Sister Bernice Gilman, Sister Valina Steinberg, Brother in law Edward Schwartz and Brother in law Martin Schwartz.
His legacy of love and laughter lives on through his son, Jim (Lynn); his grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jah), Joe (Amy), Jennifer, Dan, and Annie; and his great-grandchildren, Jennavie, Oliver, and Kalel. He was also blessed with many close and dedicated friends, including Mary Ann, whose faithful visits during his rapid decline were a source of great comfort and a true reflection of the deep bonds he forged throughout his life.
Even as his body began to fail him, Harvey's unwavering spirit and sharp wit remained intact. He kept his sense of humor to the very end, sharing jokes and laughter with the nurses who cared for him.
The family is deeply grateful for the compassionate and caring services provided by Palm Beach County Vitas Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Vitas Hospice in his memory.
