Harvey Leo Trahan, 74, passed away on January 3, 2026, in Blanco, Texas.

Born on May 10, 1951, in Lafayette, Louisiana, Harvey lived a vibrant life rooted in creativity, connection and wonder. In 1997, he co-founded Zydeco Blanco, sharing his Louisiana heritage with Central Texas through music. With his rub board rhythms and heartfelt vocals, Harvey brought joy to every stage he graced—inviting others to dance, smile, and celebrate life together.

Harvey was also a skilled electrician and massage therapist. Known for his intuitive hands and thoughtful approach, he offered healing and help wherever it was needed. He even built his own home by hand—a quiet testament to his care and craftsmanship.

His love for the outdoors was evident in his favorite pastimes: fishing, kayaking, gardening, and cooking. Whether serving up a pot of gumbo or gathering with friends around the table, Harvey created spaces of warmth and welcome. His belief in beauty, connection, and possibility shaped every part of his life.

Harvey is remembered for his kindness and humility. His steady presence left an impact on all who met him—friends, neighbors, fellow musicians, clients, children, and strangers alike. For many, he felt like family.

He is survived by his daughters, Angela Trahan and Amber Friedman; his son, Shawn Trahan; his grandson, Chris Trahan; great-grandchildren Humble and Purpose Trahan; his brother David Trahan; and sisters Sandra Trahan Broom and Kathleen Trahan Hollier. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irby and Dula Trahan; and sister Susette Trahan Cochran.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Old Blanco County Courthouse, 300 Main Street, Blanco, Texas. All are welcome to honor Harvey's legacy of music, compassion, and love.
