Harvey Wilson

1937 - 2026

Harvey Allen Wilson passed away in his home in Brentwood, California on Saturday, March 28, 2026. He was born September 5th, 1937 to Elmer Luther Wilson and Josephine (Josie) Elizabeth Wilson (nee McGuire) in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. He was a graduate of Wallace High School in Wallace, Idaho. Harvey spent almost his entire working career in the grocery industry, working as a grocery & produce clerk, as well as potato chip, bread & meat sales and delivery. Harvey, his wife and daughters moved to South Lake Tahoe in 1963, where they lived for the next 15 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hiking, fishing, hunting and camping with his family and friends. In his senior years, he gave up hunting with a gun for hunting with a camera and photography became an avid hobby for him. Harvey was known for his willingness to help those in need. If he saw a disabled car pulled off the road, he would always stop to see if he could be of assistance.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 67 years, Cherie Ann Wilson (nee Miranda), his three daughters: Margaret “Peggy” Fishman (Aaron), Donna Lee Chamberlin & Roberta Joy Thorndike (Donald), eight grandchildren: Angela Wooton (Jesse), Mario Cro, Joshua Thorndike (Tianna), Eric Chamberlin (Aubrey), Shane Benevento, Paola Fernandez-Cro, Melissa Menez (Darren) and Amanda Thorndike, as well as seven great grandchildren: Elijah Chamberlin, William Cro, Cherie Cro, Declan Hoglund, Henry Menez, Charlotte Menez and Genevieve Judd. He is predeceased by his parents Elmer and Josie Wilson, his brother Carl Wilson and his daughter Katherine Benevento.
