Hazel M. (Malloch) Carras, age 93, a longtime resident of Quincy, died peacefully, Saturday, February 28, 2026 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Hazel was born in Boston, to the late Joseph Malloch and Ella (Waterhouse) McNally, and was raised and educated in Roxbury. She lived in Quincy for the past sixty years.

As a young woman, Hazel worked as a model for Sears, Roebuck & Co. After marrying, she left the workforce to raise her family and later returned, working as a waitress at Lum's, which later became the Village Pump North, and Nick's Restaurant, all in Braintree.

Hazel was a beloved member of Active Day of Hingham where she made many lasting friendships.

Hazel was artistic and creative, and had a talent for crafting. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed hosting. Hazel had a special connection with her cat, Penny, and loved animals. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Devoted mother of Christina M. Bythrow, her loving caregiver in her later years, and her husband Daniel of Braintree, Barbara Robbins of Quincy, Louise Burns of Weymouth, the late Louis Swank, and the late William Carras.

Loving grandmother of four, great grandmother of two, and great-great grandmother of two.

The last of seven siblings, she was predeceased by Carl, Joseph, James, Jack, Barbara, and Claire.

Longtime companion of the late Robert Wilson.

Former wife of the late James E. Carras and Louis Swank.

Hazel is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Wednesday, March 4, from 4 - 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
