Hedwig C Rimmer

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Hedwig Cathleen Rimmer on April 4, 2026 at her home in Southampton, New Jersey at the age of 95. Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, she took pride in her work as a secretary in Manhattan and the Bronx. She retired to Pomona, New York until the passing of her beloved husband, Kenneth Rimmer, a WWII Marine Corps veteran. Hedwig was a devoted mother and was deeply loved by her son Kevin Rimmer, daughter Mary Madewell, son-in-law James Madewell, and her grandchildren Andrew Madewell, Catherine Madewell, and Samantha Madewell. Survived by her beloved younger Pfeifer brothers Daniel, Frederick, and James and her best friends and sisters-in-law Angela, Catherine, and Priscilla. Hedwig will be deeply missed but she will forever be in our hearts. Rest in peace dear Hedwig. Friends and family may attend a mass of Christian Burial to be held on Monday, April 27, 11am at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, 21 Cinder Road, Garnerville, N.Y. 10923-1131. Burial to follow at Frederick Loescher Veterans Cemetery, 220 Brick Church Road, New Hempstead, N.Y. 10977.
