Helen Elizabeth Behn

It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved daughter, sister, mother and friend, Helen Behn on March 1st. Her presence, humor and compassion will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Helen was born August 18, 1963 and grew up in Garnerville, NY. Helen had an adventurous spirit and fell in love with Lake Tahoe, CA, making it her home for 33 years. She was a proud and wonderful mother to her two sons.

Helen is survived by her sons Bodin and Gunnar Schwartz, both residing in CA; her mother Brigida Behn (Née Spicci) and siblings Laura Sappio (Robert), Mary Selkow (Richard), Joan Caruso (Michael), George Behn (Francesca), Nancy Conklin (Jeffrey), and many nieces and nephews who affectionately called her Aunt Doogie. She was predeceased by her father, George Behn, Sr.

A memorial service is planned in April by her Tahoe friends and colleagues. Her family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
