Helen Lorraine Martin

Helen Martin, affectionately known as "Gma," passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, at the age of 78. A longtime resident of Harvest, Alabama, Helen was born in Grants, New Mexico, and lived a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to her family and community.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Ray Martin Jr., who passed on November 4, 2016, and her cherished granddaughter, Holly Brianna Martin.
Helen is survived by her children: Jimmy Martin, Joy (Andres) Rosales, Jeri Martin, and Jana Martin. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Jordan Hill (Shane), Savannah Rosales, Sienna Lamon (Will), Andrew (Laiza) Rosales, Jamie Martin, and Brooks Martin, as well as eight great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.
Helen dedicated many years to teaching children through Mothers Morning Out programs, where her patience and kindness touched countless young lives. She also held a deep passion for honoring service members, reflecting her gratitude and respect for those who served.
A private ceremony will be held at a later time, where Helen's ashes will be joined with Papa's in Grants, New Mexico.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of books, crossword puzzles, blankets, pajamas, or simply a visit with a resident at Diversicare Nursing Home — a gesture that would honor Helen's spirit of compassion and care.
Helen will be remembered for her unwavering love, her gentle guidance, and her ability to make everyone feel valued. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her
