Helen E. (Kimball) Mina, age 84, a longtime resident of Quincy, died peacefully, Friday, March 13, 2026 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Helen was born in Cambridge, to the late Helen E. (Foster) and Harold D. Kimball. Raised and educated in Somerville, she was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1959. She lived in the Houghs Neck section of Quincy for sixty-eight years.

She was employed as a licensed practical nurse and worked at many hospitals, including the former Long Island Hospital, the former Quincy City Hospital, the former Mattapan Chronic Disease Hospital, Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, and Boston Medical Center.

Helen loved spending time on Perry Beach with her children and their friends, when the weather permitted. It was not uncommon for her to provide them refreshments of peanut butter fluff-a-nutter sandwiches and juices.

Most of all, Helen was devoted to her family, supporting all their many activities and accomplishments. She was a devoted grandmother, mother, sister, and wife.

Beloved wife for fifty-three years of the late Anthony V. Mina.

Devoted mother of Helen E. Mina of Weymouth, Jacqueline E. Mina of Quincy, and of Anthony’s daughter Diane Medeirous and her husband Frank of Lakeville

Loving grandmother of Toni E. Mina and of Anthony’s grandchildren Kimberly Medeirous and Kelly Medeirous.

Dear twin sister of Harold D. Kimball of Quincy and his late wife Carol.

Cherished aunt of Harold D. Kimball of Rio Rancho, N.M. and Suzanne C. Perry of Londonderry, N.H.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Wednesday, March 18, from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Holy Trinity Parish at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1015 Sea Street, Quincy, on Thursday, March 19, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
