Mr. Henry "Grady" May Jr., 79, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026, surrounded by his family, in Coconut Creek, Florida.
Grady was born October 24, 1946, in Brunswick, Georgia. He was the son of Henry Grady May Sr. and Evelyn Tucker May. Grady lived a life grounded in faith, family, and strength. He was a loving father and took great pride in his family, especially his daughter, grandsons and great-grandsons, whom he cherished deeply. His love, guidance, and steady presence will continue to be felt by all who knew him. Grady proudly served in the United States Navy. Upon leaving the Navy, Grady became a pipefitter and was a member of the Plumber and Steamfitters Local Union 234 out of Jacksonville, Florida. Later in his career Grady retired from Georgia Pacific in Palatka, Florida. Grady took pride in his work and the people he worked with. Outside of work, he enjoyed fishing, Florida Gator football, and being with his family. Grady's greatest joy was spending time with his grandsons and great-grandsons. After retirement he relocated to Coconut Creek, FL, where he served the community of Wynmoor and held several roles within the association. Grady has often said his greatest accomplishment in life was his faith in Jesus Christ and sharing the message of salvation with his daughter and seeing her and his grandsons accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Grady is survived by his daughter, Sandra Lynch (Sean), Grandchildren Sean Lynch (Ashley), Bradley Lynch (Tara) and great-grandsons (Jack and Grady), girlfriend Betty Shaddinger, brothers Kenny May (Sandy), Sam May (Leslie) and three nephews, Hank May, Ben May and Dylan Liesenfelt.
There will be two celebrations of life honoring Grady. One celebration will be held in Coconut Creek on February 15th at 2:00 p.m. at the Wynmoor Village Grand Ballroom 1001 Wynmoor Circle. The second celebration will be in Jacksonville on February 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at Riverstone Community Church 6800 W 5th Street, Jacksonville Fl, 32254.
Grady will be remembered for the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the impact he made on the lives around him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Grady May to the Guy Harvey Foundation to support marine conservation.
