Herbert Daniel Worm

Herbert Daniel Worm listened to the whispers that encouraged him to give his love and support to the people he met during his life. It is no surprise that Isaiah 30:21 helped direct him: "And your ears shall hear a word behind you: 'This is the way; walk in it,' when you would turn to the right or the left."

He always put the needs of others first. He made sure everyone received a "thank you" for their efforts, he was the last to leave the party because he wanted to help clean up, and the Scoutmaster whose motto was "Leave it better than you found it." Our lives are better for having met him, and those who knew him well hear "this is the way; walk in it" whispered in his own voice. His life of servant leadership is carried on after his passing by those upon whom he made an impact.

He went by the name of Dan for most of his life to differentiate from his father and namesake, Herbert, who died when Dan was 16. When his mother, Fran, passed away in 2020, Dan started to go by Herb to honor his father. Regardless of which name we knew him by, his steadfast service and dedication to always doing the right thing remain at the core of the memory of his life.

The prayer that captions St Faustina's Divine Mercy image is "Jesus, I trust in You." This prayer was central during the most difficult and challenging times of his battle with pancreatic cancer. Providentially, he passed on to his reward on Divine Mercy Sunday with his wife in their home after having received Jesus in the Eucharist at Mass.

- Funeral Mass: Saturday, May 2nd from 10:00am-11:00am at St Benedict the Moor Church 86 MLKing Ave, St Augustine, FL 32084.

- Internment: Saturday, May 2nd from 11:30am-Noon at San Lorenzo Cemetery 1635 US Hwy 1, St Augustine, FL 32084.

Herbert Daniel Worm (February 24, 1961-April 12, 2026) is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sandra Worm his son and daughter-in-law, Maxwell and Cassandra Milan, his grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jonathan Milan, and his nephew and niece-in-law Scott Warichak and Veronica Feldman.
