Howard Lawrence "Larry" Punches, age 78, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania. Born on December 12, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio, Larry lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his career, and his passions.

Larry proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps, a role he held with great honor throughout his life. Following his military service, he embarked on a long and fulfilling career as a building inspector for the School District of Philadelphia. For 35 years, Larry worked diligently to ensure the safety and integrity of school facilities, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and professionalism.

Family was at the heart of Larry’s life. He is survived by his loving children: Vincent Punches; Mary Felix (Michael); and Theresa Punches. He was also a devoted grandfather to Lauren, Paige, Cameron, Sophia, Trevor, Mason, Maxwell, Matthew, Mila, Michaela; and cherished his great-grandchildren deeply. Larry’s siblings—Marjorie Moss (David), Robert Donsky (Gaylyn), and Gina Capizzi (Vince)—held a special place in his heart. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as godchildren whom he loved dearly.

Larry was predeceased by his parents Marjorie Donsky and Harmon Punches; his son Lawrence Punches; and his brother Edward Punches. Despite these losses, Larry’s enduring love for family remained steadfast throughout his life.

A man of many interests and passions, Larry found joy in golfing with friends and spending summer vacations at the shore. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on. Known for his warm spirit and generosity, Larry was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Larry’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him. His dedication as a father, grandfather, brother, son, Marine Corps veteran, and friend will leave an indelible mark on those whose lives he touched.
