Ida (Geosits) Bartholomew

96 years of age and resident of Hokendauqua, Whitehall Township, passed away peacefully on Monday March 30, 2026 in the comfort of her home. She was the wife of Charles R. Batholomew for 73 years prior to his passing on June 5, 2025.

Born in Coplay, Ida was a daughter of the late Mathias and Ida (Wechsler) Geosits. She was a proud homemaker, wife and mother.

Ida was a dedicated member of Saint Peter Catholic Church in Coplay, where she was a member of the Choir for many years. She played the accordion and enjoyed polka dancing with her husband at the Edelweis Haus and at Coplay Saengerbund, where she was a member of the Edelweis Choraliers. Together Ida and Charles attended Polka Fest for many years.

Ida is survived by a son Robert C. Bartholomew of Whitehall; brothers Joseph and John Geosits, sister Helen Vetrok, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by sisters Anna and Dorothy.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Msgr. David L. James on Tuesday April 14, 2026 at 10:30 am in Saint Peter Catholic Church, 4 South Fifth Street in Coplay, where her family will receive guests beginning at 9:30 am.

Interment will be in Saint Peter Catholic Cemetery Whitehall
on a later date at the convenience of her family.
