Ingrid Latimer Schulz

1943 - 2026

Ingrid Latimer Schulz, 82, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, after a courageous two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.

She was born on March 17, 1943, to Ira and Imogene Latimer in Hyde Park, Chicago. She attended Illinois Wesleyan University and earned her Master's degree in history from Northeastern University in Chicago. She was a proud member of Alpha Omicron Pi (AOII) and served as their International Parliamentarian for many years.

Ingrid married Carl Schulz Jr in 1964. While living in Wilmette, Illinois, she taught at Regina Dominican High School and was a member of the Junior Woman's Club of Wilmette. For more than 22 years, Ingrid and Carl served as parental figures to 102 teenagers, providing a safe and loving home for them when they had nowhere else to turn. They worked closely with Catholic Charities in Chicago and Haven Youth and Family Services in Winnetka, Illinois. While living in Wausau, Wisconsin, she was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution and was the director of religious education for the Church of the Resurrection. During her time in St. Petersburg, Florida, she was an avid Bridge player.

Ingrid is survived by her sons Carl W III & Andrew M. (Geraldine, William, Maritza, Andrew Jr., Ashley); her daughters, Heidi Schulz Esposito (Chris, Paige, Sylvia, George); Pattie Knight (Colleen, Brian), Laura Hooper (Oliver, Lucie) ; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Schulz Jr.; her parents, Ira and Imogene Latimer; and her brother, Thomas Latimer.

There will be a remembrance ceremony at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago on June 11, 2026 at 10 A.M. Section 114.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
