Irene Bresnick

Irene Rosenthal Bresnick was born July 2, 1933 in Chicago as the first of three children to London-raised artistic performer Beatrice June Heftel and Lithuanian-born & Kansas/Missouri raised Dr. William Rosenthal, a Reconstructive Dentist & later US Army Colonel Dental Corps. Her family headed West to warm and sunny Los Angeles when she was a teen. Irene graduated from UCLA and an active "Pink House" Sorority sister. Despite her love of violin & fashion clothing drawing, she became a dedicated LAUSD teacher, then marrying another handsome teacher, Ray Bresnick. She eventually left LAUSD to begin a very successful tutoring Private Practice in her home Library, raised 2 amazing sons, got 2 Masters degrees in Education, began and sold a booming K - 9 Private School, then returned to LAUSD as a Special Education teacher and Administrator at infamous Emerson Middle School, just blocks from her loved UCLA. She retired after 50 years as a dedicated and caring teacher.

Her two sons, Dr. Stephen and Dr. William Bresnick, four grandchildren, in-laws and too many to count medical appointments filled her retirement days. Because of it all, she lived 92 very amazing, very busy and very productive years. She will be loved, missed, appreciated or remembered by tens of thousands. And yes, Ireni was the "Goddess of Peace", and Irene is now at rest and in peace at Mt. Sinai next to her loved mother and brother, as she wanted.
