Isaac Miller, Jr., a beloved native of New Orleans and lifelong resident, transitioned to eternal rest on February 7, 2026, at age 82. Known for his deep faith, he was a member of Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Church, which held special family significance as it was founded in his grandmother Alberta Williams Miller's home on Jackson Avenue, where the first services were held under the leadership of its first pastor, Reverend A. A. Gundy.

A retiree of the renowned Boston Club and Boh Bros as well as a member of Union Local 99, Isaac lived a life filled with passion, music, and a love for local history. He fondly recalled his days in a doo-wop group and as a lounge/jazz club partner. The music of his friend, the late great Sam Cooke often filled his home with him providing his own ad-libs to every track. In his later years, he found peace in the artful pursuit of fishing. Born March 18, 1943, he leaves behind a legacy of devotion to his family.

He is survived by (as he would say) his four girls who were his world: his wife of 50 years, Aline Miller; his daughter, Aurora Miller-Horton; and his granddaughters, Aasha and Marlee Horton. He also leaves behind his son-in-law, Mark Horton; mother-in-law, Gloria B. Terry; sister-in-law, Sarah Hymes; and brothers-in-law, Ozzie and Ivory Terry. He will be missed by a host of nieces and nephews who fondly remember him as a man of wisdom.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Isaac Sr. and Bernice Lee Miller; his grandparents, Alberta and Louis Miller; his seven brothers, Leon, Jack, Thomas, Earl, Edward, Alfred, and Roy Miller; his sister, Beatrice Patterson-Fletcher; and his brother-in-law, Armond "Billy" Terry.

The family will hold a private memorial service on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Providence Memorial Park & Mausoleum, where he will be laid for eternal rest.

A man of preparation and unwavering faithfulness to the end, he has now 'gone fishing,' leaving us with a legacy of cherished memories that will never fade.
