Jackie Ann Wood (née Svarney), age 76, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, in Daytona Beach, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. Her passing was due to complications related to diabetes.
Born on April 5, 1949, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Jackie spent her early years in the vibrant coastal city she always held dear. She often reminisced fondly about her childhood and teenage years there—memories filled with sunshine, music, dancing, and the warmth of close-knit community life.
Jackie built a long and dedicated career marked by hard work and dependability. She began in retail store management before transitioning into banking, where she devoted over three decades to various roles—primarily in customer service support. Her colleagues knew her as a steadfast and reliable presence who brought integrity and diligence to every task.
Beyond her professional life, Jackie found joy in many passions. She had a deep love for plants and cultivated them with care throughout her life. A devoted animal lover, she shared her home over the years with many cherished dogs and one beloved cat—her fur babies who brought her endless comfort and companionship.
Jackie especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren: Mckenzie Wood, Trinity Wood, Houston Wood, and Wren Wood. Whether sharing stories from her youth or simply enjoying their company, these moments were among her most cherished.
She also loved visiting the Florida Keys with her dear friend Candy—a tradition that brought laughter and lasting memories. The color red always brightened her world, as did music and dancing. Her spirit was joyful and full of life.
Jackie was a loving mother to Steven Wood II and to Kenneth Wood and his wife Hayley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ruth Svarney, as well as by her brother Fred Svarney.
A loyal friend and devoted family member, Jackies warmth touched all who knew her. Her wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest at sea alongside her beloved father—a final journey that reflects both her love of the ocean and the enduring bonds of family.
May Jackie's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
