In Loving Memory of Jacob Fosco

It is with heavy hearts that we share the heartbreaking news that Jacob Allan Fosco passed away in the early morning of November 18th. He was 27 years old and lived in Peoria, Arizona. Born on June 26, 1998, Jacob had a boisterous presence that touched the lives of many.

Jacob is survived by his mother, Amy Fosco (Blumberg); his father, Ira Fosco; his sisters, Shelby Fosco (Vince Mason) and Carlee Fosco (Kaiya Fosco Schrader); and his beloved nephew, Ellis Mason. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, "Baubi," Rochelle Fosco, and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and chosen family who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Merle and Sheldon Blumberg; his paternal grandfather, Michael Fosco; and his uncle, Sydney Blumberg.

Growing up in West Dundee, Illinois, Jacob always found ways to help others and stand up for what he believed in, though not without finding himself in just a little bit of trouble along the way. From a young age, he had a bold spirit and a knack for adventure. Jacob grew up playing youth football, skateboarding with friends, and even had a brief stint as a wrestler. He was fiercely competitive and thrived in any team environment that embodied protection, loyalty, and family values that would follow him throughout his life.

As many of you know, Jacob bravely struggled with the disease of addiction for many years. During the moments when he found strength and clarity, he used his journey not only to heal himself but also to lift others up, offering hope, understanding, and compassion to those fighting the same battle. Jacob had a fierce, protective spirit: he often put himself in harm's way or in unsafe situations to help others who were also hurting. His kindness and his genuine ability to connect with people were gifts that have touched many lives.

Jacob's humor, his big heart, and the deep love he held for his family and friends will forever define him. He had a way of making people feel seen and understood, whether through a simple conversation or a generous act.

In his final act of selflessness, Jacob chose to donate his body to science, to advance research and contribute to medical education. This decision reflects his caring nature and his desire to leave something meaningful behind that could help others.

A Celebration of Life will be hosted on January 24th from 1-4 PM at:
