Obituary
Jacqueline "Jackie" Dann, 89, of Highland Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026. Born on May 5, 1936, in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Maurice Pavalon and Esther Horvich.
Jackie was devoted to her family and leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love. She was the loving wife of Donnie for 70 years, having married in 1956. She was the adored mother of Monica (Danny), Cindy (Larry), Pam (Alex), and Elizabeth (Michael). Jackie was the cherished grandmother of Michael (Danielle), Samantha (Jack), Jessica (Mark), Matthew (Emilee), Stephanie (Austin), Madeline (fiancé Scott), Leo, Isabel (fiancé Max), Halle (fiancé Jordan), and Joie. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Payton, Harry, Wyatt, Leni, Wolf, Ellis, Teddy, Logan, and Lillian.
Jackie was preceded in death by her siblings Wesley, Norman, and Sheila. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. She attended Senn High School, continuing her education at Northwestern University, and earned her Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Barat College. She worked as a travel agent, bringing her passion for exploration to her profession.
A woman of boundless energy and grace, Jacqueline was a phenomenal hostess who delighted in entertaining, decorating, and cooking for family and friends. Her special qualities extended far beyond the kitchen; she was described as the extraordinary CEO of her family, enjoying and managing their vacation homes in Palm Springs, Aspen, and Cave Creek.
Jackie's zest for life was evident in her many interests. She enjoyed reading, playing canasta, bridge, and tennis, as well as skiing, attending concerts at Ravinia, and theater performances, particularly in New York City. Above all, she treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was a devoted supporter of her husband's passion for birds, nature, and the environment, traveling extensively with him throughout their lives together. Jackie expertly coordinated unforgettable family vacations to destinations including Israel, Africa, Alaska, Hawaii, the Galápagos Islands, the Caribbean, Europe, and Mexico.
