Jacqueline Elaine Van Keirsbelk nee Cunningham
Jacqueline “Jackie” Elaine Van Keirsbelk, born on November 1, 1942, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026, in Detroit, Michigan, with family by her side.
Jackie was proceeded in death by her parents, Jack and Veronica; her devoted husband, Bob; and siblings, Keith and Nancy.
She is remembered by siblings, John and Kathleen; her children, Janelle, Cyril, Tracy, and Tricia; cherished grandchildren, Nathan, Garrett (Julia), Malcolm, and Colin; and treasured great-granddaughter, Stella. As well as her cousin and best friend, Fredricka; son-in-law, Matthew, and extended family, Troung-Singh (Xuanto), Tuan, Hieu (Howard), and Tom (Ann); as well as numerous adored nieces nephews and friends.
Her love of sports began in childhood, where she was rarely found sitting still. By high school she was often the team leader in softball, basketball, field hockey, and swimming. That same energy and competitive spirit stayed with her throughout her life, whether she was playing a game, cheering others on or simply enjoying time together.
She met Bob, her one and only love on a blind date set up by a co‑worker—an introduction that turned out to be exactly right. Together, they built a meaningful life filled with shared adventures, simple pleasures, and four children. They enjoyed family camping trips, attending musicals, and spending quality time together, creating memories that would last beyond their lifetimes.
Later in life card and board games were her greatest pleasures, especially when paired with family gatherings. She loved teaching others how to play, always welcoming others to the table to share in the fun. She also enjoyed live trivia with friends and family, which always included a stern explanation of her well-known margarine allergy, an unforgettable lesson that waitstaff inevitably remembered.
Jackie’s heart of gold led her to do anything for anyone. If someone needed help, she was there—no questions asked. Her generosity, loyalty, and selflessness defined who she was and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
She held a quiet but strong faith that guided her through life. Her faith showed in the way she lived—through kindness, compassion, and the way she cared for others.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her loving heart, her strength, and her unwavering devotion to family. It can't be said that Jackie is survived by her family, because she lives on in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life open house will be held in Michigan on April 25, 2026, from 1pm to 5pm in St. Clair County and in Orange County California on May 16th.
