Jaime Cesar Recuero Sr., 83, passed away on March 8, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. The funeral mass was held at Incarnation Catholic Church, Tampa, FL. A longtime Tampa resident, Jaime was born in Panama City, Panama. Jaime began his distinguished military career as a student in the Air Force of Latin American Countries before joining the United States Air Force in 1956 where he served 24 years, retiring as Master Sergeant. Jaime's Air Force Specialty was in the communications field to include training international military personnel and hosting various international conferences for the Inter-American Telecommunications System. He also helped establish Sistema Interamericano del Telecomunicaciones para las Fuerzas Aereas (SITFA), which was vital in communications between the U.S. Air Force and Air Forces in Central and South America. Upon his retirement from the U.S. Air Force in 1980, Jaime and his family moved to Tampa. Jaime worked throughout the Tampa Bay area focusing on information technology positions before officially retiring from the workforce in 1995. Jaime is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ana B. Recuero nee Mendieta, four children, Jaime C. Recuero, Jr. (Kim) of Mascoutah, IL; Debbie A. Kemp nee Recuero of Tampa, FL; John A. Recuero (Melissa) of St. Petersburg, FL; Ana Recuero of Arlington, VA; and four grandchildren, Justin, Krystin, Rachel, and Taylor.
