James "Jay" Armstrong, age 69, passed away on December 14, 2025, after suffering a massive stroke and subsequent health complications.
Jay was a man who truly embraced life. He found his paradise on the island of Kauai, where he lived surrounded by the ocean he loved so deeply. An avid waterman, Jay especially enjoyed wing foiling and other water sports, always happiest when he was on or near the water. When he wasn't in the ocean, he could often be found on the golf course, enjoying the game and the camaraderie it brought.
Jay was known for his warm heart, infectious laughter, and goofy sense of humor. He loved to entertain, tell jokes, and bring smiles to the faces of those around him. His ability to make people laugh and feel welcome was one of his greatest gifts, and it left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Jay is survived by his beloved family: his older sister, Mary; his younger brother, John; his daughter, Ashley, and son-in-law, Jeremy; his cherished grandchildren, Peyton and Mia; and his son, Sean. He was truly loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jay's spirit, laughter, and love for life will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
