James Charles Baudino, born October 19, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on December 22, 2025 peacefully surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, humor, and deep devotion to those he loved.
Jim began his electrical apprenticeship in 1955 and built a career defined by skill, leadership, and integrity. Over the years, he often told stories about the many projects he worked on that left a lasting mark on the city of Detroit and surrounding area. In 1976, while celebrating his 40th birthday, Jim was working on the Alaska Pipeline. When he returned home, he went on to start Micro Electric and proudly remained a member of IBEW Local 58 for 71 years.
Outside of work, Jim truly knew how to enjoy life. He loved pheasant hunting, fishing for walleye on Lake Erie, and catching bluegill on Duck Lake. Anywhere he was, became a place where stories were shared and memories were made. Jim cherished his friendships deeply and held lifelong bonds with several friends that added to the depth of his great stories.
Jim was known for always having a laugh ready and never taking himself too seriously. His stories were legendary, and he'd bet on just about anything, football squares, keno - but most of all, his family. You'd never catch him at a family gathering without all the fixings for Bagna Cauda and a Crown Royal bag full of change ready to play poker. He always had a laugh ready, and when it came to his passions, hockey ran through his veins. He proudly sponsored local teams year after year, and you could often find him against the glass, cheering on his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isabel and Jim Baudino; his son, Mike Baudino; his son-in-law, Jerry Berlin; and his sister-in-law, Sharon Baudino.
He is survived by his beloved children, Jeanne, Suzy (Jim), Mark, and his daughter-in-law Bitsy; his 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; as well as his siblings, Joe Baudino and Jeanne Scheffer, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Above all else, he will be remembered as a man who worked hard, laughed loud, and believed most of life's problems could be solved with a glass of vino and by shooting the puck. His jokes and one-liners will be missed beyond words, but his memory lives on through the many lives he touched.
As we say goodbye at the bend in McGunn's Creek, we take comfort imagining Jim finding his way to cool and clear water. His stories are told, his work is done, and his heart at peace.
