James Blakey, born in Bedford Indiana to Etna Lillian Blakey on January 3, 1941, passed away December 4, 2025, after a life defined by service and passion. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Tech Sergeant Blakey enlisted in 1959 and honorably served his country for over 20 years including deployments to Vietnam and "pushing troops" as a Training Instructor at Lackland AFB. He was well known for embodying determination and courage throughout his distinguished military career.
Beyond his military service, James was widely recognized for his dynamic musicianship. A talented guitarist, he found joy in sharing his music with others and frequently performed in public, touching many with his artistry.
James and his late wife, Alice, shared a love for adventure, often riding motorcycles together and embracing the open road. Their journey together was filled with cherished memories, and as James takes a new road, his legacy continues through the lives he touched.
James leaves behind two daughters; grandson A. Garcia; grandson Jerrin Nassir and family; granddaughter Julia Nassir; eldest granddaughter Jaimee Juarez and family; stepdaughter Shirley Schenk and family; and stepson Max Smith and family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
