James Finch Bryan

James Finch Bryan, beloved husband, father, and grandfather went home to be with the Lord Jesus on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

Jim is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara, and their three children: Jennifer Noel, Emily (Eric) Hicks, and Matt (Tiffany) Bryan. He and Barbara were blessed with eleven grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Jim grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, and graduated from Covenant College while it was still in St. Louis, Missouri. He and his family moved to Greenville in 1986 where he soon discovered his best work life as a handyman doing light construction and home repairs. A highlight of his job was meeting "the nicest folks'' in his new community. Jim spent countless hours with his kids and grandkids, sharing his hobbies and teaching them the skills he so carefully honed. He loved serving at North Hills Church, whether it was making coffee on Sunday mornings or driving the church van for those who needed a ride. Jim studied God's Word, shared what he learned with others, and prayed faithfully for those he loved. Many were blessed by his life of service.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 29, at E.I. School of Biblical Studies, 700 N. Parker Road, Greenville, SC 29609. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 am until 10:45 am.
