September 23, 1946 - January 9, 2026

James Paul Demchak, 79, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, at home in Peachtree City, Georgia, surrounded by family. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather (Pops), uncle and friend.

Jim was born on September 23, 1946, to Michael and Katherine (Surovec) Demchak in Detroit, Michigan. He was graduate of Wayne State University, a member of the Delta Chi fraternity, and after graduation, he and his wife, Susan, served in the Peace Corps in Jamaica.

Jim was an accomplished executive in Human Resources at Xerox Corporation, Florifax International, and Ryder System, Inc., before founding Sandhurst Associates, a retained executive search firm in Dallas, Texas. Jim successfully led Sandhurst through two acquisitions with major international search firms before redefining and partnering with Sandhurst Group. He also served as a Senior Partner and Advisory Board Chair for Douglas County Colorado Partners, an organization working with at-risk youth.

Jim was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman, and could also occasionally be heard playing the guitar or bagpipes. He loved spending time with his family and friends, enjoying his favorite hobbies and traveling the world.

He is preceded in death by his parents Michael and Katherine Demchak; his sister Madeline Stanek; and his brothers John and Michael Demchak. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan, and their children Lynn (Joe) Demchak-Viera, Megan (Kirk) Laugesen, and Zack (Lauren) Demchak; and three beautiful grandchildren, Christopher Demchak-Viera and Kaitlynn and Kinsey Laugesen, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jim leaves a legacy of love and a spirit of adventure in all those who loved him. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
