James England

1953 - 2026

James "Speedwagon" England peacefully passed away March 24th, 2026 as Willie Nelson's song, "Highwayman" came on the radio. Born on August 13th, 1953, Jimmy lived a full life of success, friendship, and joy. He considered himself a highwayman, through and through, owning a trucking company in Colorado Springs for 30 years. He was widely known in the trucking community.

Jimmy embraced the small things like making a point of staying in touch with his mom and five siblings just about every day. He had many lifelong friendships that meant the world to him. He enjoyed talking all things trucks and motorcycles with Iceman, Boots, Krazyman, and others. He got satisfaction from helping those who needed it. While married to Anna England, he was a good husband and loved her to the end. They always remained friends. He was not only a kind and gentle father, but a fun dad. Once answering the fatherly call of duty for his teenage daughter: midnight Saturday, 1969 Lemans, snapped rear axle, 2 feet of mud- No questions asked! Jimmy's greatest lessons as a father was to be honest, straightforward, and hardworking.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Carol McCormick (Bill) of Divide, his grandchildren: Serena Lee (Chase) and Jon McCormick (Maia) with grandchildren Ty, Maddy, Elliot, and Hudson. He will be greatly missed by his mother Mary England and siblings Steve England (Pam), Mikki Terrance (Billy), Dawn McCaslin, Eddie England and family, and Chris England (Deborah), and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Ron and his brother Ronny.

Jimmy will be sorely missed by many. At the end, he recognized the Lord and spoke of being in the presence of angels. When the Lord called, he answered. A celebration of life potluck is scheduled for June 13th, 2026 at the Elks Lodge 1050 21st Colorado Springs, CO.
