James (Jim) L. Horne Jr., 73, passed away on March 10, 2026, in Margate, FL. Born on November 28, 1952, Jim dedicated eight years of his life to the Air Force, serving his country with honor and pride. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career as a warehouse manager, a role through which he met his beloved wife, Krissy.
Jim was a man of many passions, including his love for the music of Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and The Beatles. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and NY Yankees games, reveling in competition and the love for the sport. After retiring in Florida, Jim could be found fishing off the pier in Pompano Beach and enjoying the ocean air.
He was skilled with his hands, often found fixing things around the house or cooking and BBQing. A fan of shows like "The Sopranos," and action movies, Jim enjoyed watching TV while indulging in late-night snacks and hanging out with his beloved dogs.
Jim was a member of the Church by The Glades, where he found a strong community, spiritual solace, and a renewed love for God. His faith played a significant role in his life, guiding him through many of life's challenges and joys.
He leaves behind his wife, Krissy; step-daughters, Katherine (Kyle) and Deanna; brother, Robert Horne (Chris); sisters, Debra Dixon (Vincent) and Tracey Guidi (Ralph); granddaughter, Mila, and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James Lawrence Horne Sr. and Gertrude Anne Horne, whom he adored greatly.
Jim's life was marked by his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his commitment to his faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his sarcasm and jokes.
