James "Jim" Arvin Jaggers, 77, passed away on December 18, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born June 23, 1948, in Sacramento, California.

In his early life, Jim attended Ethel I. Baker Elementary School, Fern Bacon Junior High, and graduated from Luther Burbank High School in June 1966. He met Darlene Lewis while they both were working at K-Mart in Sacramento. They were married on December 13, 1967, and were later sealed in the Oakland Temple in April 1975. Jim served his country in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart.
Jim and Darlene are the proud parents of two children, James "Jim" Brian Jaggers born in 1970 and Gregory Wayne Jaggers born in 1971.
Jim worked tirelessly for his family in many capacities. He worked as a federal guard, for the Veteran's Administration and Sacramento State helping other veterans with their GI bills, US Postal Service, then UC Davis.
Jim was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he faithfully served on the high counsel, in bishoprics, and in many other church callings. He had a firm testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and he and his eternal companion had the privilege of serving in the Sacramento Temple.
In retirement, Jim served on the board of the 31st Infantry Regiment Association. He loved his country and was very patriotic. Jim was creative and developed a love of woodworking which he enjoyed sharing with the others.
Jim was protective, a true gentleman, loyal, and hardworking. He taught his boys the value of work and how to treat others. He loved hanging out with family and friends. He was an example of friendship, leadership, support, trustworthiness, and love. He had a great sense of humor, loved country music, desserts, and John Wayne movies.

Above all else, Jim cherished his family and firmly believed that families can be together forever.
